LLANDUDNO ALBION 4

LLANDYRNOG UNITED 1

THERE was to be no final glory to conclude the footballing campaign for Llandyrnog United last week.

Ryan Harden's charges took to the field for the final time this season in the final of the Mawddach Challenge Cup.

A large crowd totalling 300 was in attendance for the contest versus fellow Lock Stock Welsh Alliance League Division One outfit Llandudno Albion, which was played at Conwy.

In the end, Albion deservedly claimed the cup on the back of their 4-1 margin of victory on the night.

It didn't take long for the side from the coast to get their noses in front.

Just six minutes had elapsed when Anthony Marshall;s flicked header from a free kick found the back of the net.

Back came Llandyrnog, though, and they managed to level things up 11 minutes prior to the half-time whistle.

Danny Roberts was the player on target as he found the bottom corner of the net from a Dan Porter free kick.

That was to be United's only bright spot on the night, though, and Albion regained their lead just a few minutes later via Daniel Evans.

Two goals in quick succession early in the second half sealed the deal for Llandudno Albion.

Bryan Roberts and Connor Davies netted to put their side out of sight.

Llandudno Albion had an opportunity to bag a fifth goal with 10 minutes left to play, but they were denied by a superb penalty save from Llandyrnog number one Dan Jones.
