HENLLAN 4
YSCEIFIOG 3
BACK-TO-BACK Tony Evans Memorial Shields remain in view for Henllan.
However, they were made to battle extremely hard by a determined Ysceifiog outfit to book their spot in the last-four.
Chris Brown's boys seemed to be well out of sight when they built-up a 4-0 lead during last Thursday's first round meeting at Top Park.
Tony Doyle's visitors weren't prepared to throw in the towel on a sweltering night, though, and they responded with three goals of their own to set up a grandstand finish.
Henllan managed to keep their noses in front, though, setting up a tasty semi-final encounter with Llanrhaeadr yesterday evening (Tuesday).
Tom Jones was on target twice for the home side, with Dewi Jones and Nedw Clwyd joining him on the scoresheet.
Set piece expert Keith Ainsworth netted yet another free kick for Ysceifiog, who were also able to benefit from goals by Danny Jones (penalty) and Sam Parry.
