LLANDYRNOG 1

NANTGLYN 0

(after extra time)

IT'S not just World Cup clashes that require extra time!

Llandyrnog and Nantglyn couldn't be separated for almost two hours of their Tony Evans Memorial Shield encounter on Thursday evening.

The initial 90 minutes was goalless, which meant that extra time was needed to see who would progress through to the semi-finals.

Still it remained 0-0 after the first period of extra time, however a superb goal eventually settled matters in favour of Jimmy McNally's hosts.

Some 110 minutes had been played when Craig Jones picked the ball up with his back to goal, turned and struck an excellent strike into the bottom corner of the net.
