A PLAYER has traded the seaside for the Lakeside!

Bala Town have completed their latest signing of the summer transfer window having captured the signature of former Welsh Premier League young player of the year Henry Jones.

The highly-rated 24-year-old midfielder has turned down a new deal at AFC Fylde and has returned to the JD Welsh Premier League.

He will wear the number 77 shirt for the Lakesiders.

A Welshman from Aberaeron, Henry came through Swansea City's youth ranks from the age of eight until he turned professional aged 18.

While he was with the Swans, he represented their U-21 and U-23 sides, and he earned Wales U-21 caps in the process.

Jones switched to Nantporth to sign for Bangor City in July 2016 and made an instant impact in the Welsh Premier League, netting 14 goals and providing 10 assists in 18 appearances for the Citizens.

His fantastic debut season in the league saw him subsequently win the league's young player of the year accolade and he was named in the WPL team of the year.

Jones was picked up by National League outfit AFC Fylde last summer and had a solid season with The Coasters, scoring four goals in 23 games for the Lancashire outfit.
