PRESTATYN Running Club’s Bagnall sisters just keep on adding to their honours.

Despite very humid conditions on Sunday, Amie set a new personal best in winning the Preston 10-miler in 63.43.

Her partner Matty Smith was not far behind in 65.44, which was also a personal best.

Meanwhile, Amie’s younger sister Jenna has once again been selected to represent Wales, this time in the British and Irish junior mountain-running championships.

The race is on September 8 and it is over a 6.9k course in Glendalough, Ireland, involving 338 metres of climbing.

Jenna was selected after coming third in the U-20s’ race at the recent Welsh trials at Moel Eilio, Llanberis.

Fellow Prestatyn member Lois Lee narrowly missed out after finishing fourth.

Once again there were several personal bests by members in parkruns at the weekend.

At Conwy, Julia Evans was 121st overall and the first L50 in a pb of 27.09, with Roger Harrison-Jones again the first M80 in 27.56 and Janice Price was 236th overall in 33.43.

In Chester, Joy Hickman was second in the L50 class in 22.13, while three members took on the tough Wepre Park course in Connah’s Quay.

Steve Weedman finished 23rd in 24.17, Martin Gill was 48th in 26.30 (pb) and the admirable Clare Atterbury was just one place behind in 26.38 (also a pb).

This Saturday, several members will be helping to stage the first parkrun at Bodelwyddan Castle, which offers a tough but scenic off-road course.
