FLINT TOWN UNITED 7

RUTHIN TOWN 1

A FAR from magnificent weekend marked the weekend from the perspective of Ruthin Town.

Hugely competitive during the early portion of the Huws Gray Alliance campaign, Chris Williams' charges were second best during a thumping 7-1 loss on Saturday at Flint Town United.

Flint have also enjoyed a positive start to this season and the big win takes them up to second in the standings.

Victory would have seen Ruthin themselves go up into second place, but they were out of the contest within the opening 20 minutes.

Mark Cadwallader was in magnificent form to grab a hat-trick inside 18 minutes.

Andy Brown added a couple of goals for the hosts as the half developed, while Ryan Jones' strike right on the stroke of half-time provided Ruthin with their solitary bright spot.

United continued on the front foot after the break and they stretched their advantage even further courtesy of strikes from Luke Blondel and Richie Foulkes.

Flint finished the match with only 10 men following the dismissal of Jack Lewis.
