THINGS are just champion for a village pub.

The Kinmel Arms, of Llandyrnog, were crowned Denbigh and District Darts League B-League champions after coming out on top in a last game of the season decider.

Needing a draw to take the championship, they grabbed a 5-3 victory at Wings B to scoop the top prize in the second tier.

Wings B had eyes on the trophy themselves in this key match-up and a win for Sean Clark's side would have giving them the title.

However, Pete Tattum secured the silverware for the village outfit by grabbing that all important fifth point in the sixth game of the evening.

Elsewhere in the B-Division, The Hand Inn drew 4-4 with Railway B. Railwayman Chris Taylor hit a maximum.

White Lion A defeated Golden Lion B 5-3 to leapfrog them into third, while White Lion B whipped the Plough Inn 7-1.

The A-League had already been decided, but champions The Wingmen put their unbeaten record to the test versus Wings A.

They squeezed home 5-3 to end the campaign on 99 points, 22 points ahead of their nearest rivals Masons A.

Runners-up Masons A finished off with a 7-1 battering of Golden Lion A.

There were some quality arrows, with Mark Webster hitting a 16-dart leg and Glyn Lloyd bagged himself a 115 out.

Fresh from his Clwyd county call-up, Dave Davies produced 15 and 16 dart legs, in addition to a brilliant 140 finish, to complete Masons A's season.

Masons B skipper Bryan Lewis hit a 180 as his side finished with a 5-3 home win against Golden Lion C.

The Goldie C pairing of Rich Crofts and Lois Gaze hit a brilliant 17-darter in their doubles match-up.
