LLANDUDNO Albion suffered another blow to their Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One title hopes with a shock 2-1 home loss to St Asaph City.

The Saints came out of the blocks flying and they were rewarded for their strong start after just six minutes when Simon Fawcett continued his excellent recent run of form with a well taken finish.

This pattern of play continued throughout the first period, and the visitors managed to double their advantage just before the break when John Terry converted a chance after another prolonged spell of possession.

After the break saw the hosts finally begin to impose themselves on the contest, something that saw them reduce the arrears on 75 minutes when Danial Evans maintained his impressive start since finishing cricketing duties with Llandudno to get his side back in the tie.

Despite having to withstand heavy pressure in the closing stages, the away side remained resolute to secure a much-needed success that sees Albion remain in fifth spot having played two more games than the sides above them.

Mochdre Sports exited the Take Stock Van Hire Challenge Cup at the first-round stage after a 3-1 defeat at Pentraeth.

The home side opened the scoring on 13 minutes when Gwyndaf Hughes hit the target, and this was followed by a quick-fire brace from Ryan Woods to give Pen a commanding advantage at the interval.

Sports picked up their tempo after the break which resulted in Kai Davies reducing the arrears on the hour mark, but they were unable to build on their positive momentum in the second period to bow out of the competition.
