DINBYCH YOUTH 48

RHYL YOUTH 0

DESPITE the eventual scoreline, Rhyl Youth deserve a lot of credit for battling until the 80th minute at Dinbych.

The conditions were atrocious in the first half and Dinbych struggled in the first 10 minutes with the slippery ball.

They grabbed their first score after 12 minutes when Ferdi Murray crashed over from short-range to get his first try for the youth team.

Five minutes later and Dinbych increased the lead when number eight and captain Joseff Powell picked the ball up from a base of the ruck and brushed aside defenders to dive over.

It was then the turn of the backs to get in on the scoring when a clever kick through by outside centre Harley Lloyd-Jones allowed him to dive over under the posts for a try.

Dinbych turned around at half-time 19-0 up.

Playing with the wind in the second half, Dinbych dominated and shortly after the restart, scrum half Rowan Hughes scored a fine individual try.

Iwan Evans, Harvey Cotterell, Hari Evans and Dafydd Cernyw scored further tries.
