A REPEAT of last season would certainly suit Ruthin Town.

Chris Williams' charges memorably made it through to the fourth round of last season's Welsh Cup and they will begin their national knockout programme for the current campaign with a trip this Saturday.

Huws Gray Alliance Ruthin will be strong favourites to see off Wrexham Area League Division One hosts Coedpoeth United, but Town boss Williams is taking nothing for granted.

"I have read up about them and they are doing a lot of good things there," said Williams.

"They're keeping local lads there and although they have gone down, they have done it with the local lads, which is great to see.

"I just think they are going to be right up for it (the tie).

"They have won two or three games to get here.

"We will have to work as hard ad them to start with."

Williams added: "We have had a couple of bad results and we definitely won't be taking anything easy.

"We have done alright, but there's still one or two things we need to do better.

"We have scored a few penalties, but I don't think we have been doing well enough going forward.

"I think we can do better.

"Another thing is that confidence might be a little low at the moment, but we have got good lads here."

Captain Ilan Hughes is out through suspension, while Kevin Evans is injured and Garmon Hafal remains a long-term injury victim.

Ruthin hope to have Cai Davies available.

It's a Holyhead special for two other Denbighshire clubs in first round action.

Wrexham Area League Premier Division leaders Corwen travel to Huws Gray Alliance Holyhead Hotspur in a tasty looking tie.

Elsewhere, Denbigh Town will welcome Welsh Alliance Division Two Holyhead Town to Central Park.

St Asaph City will head to Llandudno Albion aiming for a repeat of last weekend.

In a Welsh Alliance Division One meeting, the Saints triumphed 2-1.
