THERE was no easy return to action for a Denbigh Harrier!

Making his return from injury, Steve Gadd ran the Essar Four Villages half marathon on Sunday, January 15.

This is a scenic road race through rural countryside, passing through the Cheshire villages of Dunham on the Hill, Mouldsworth, Manley, Alvanley and Helsby.

Steve had a great run to finish 416th out of 1,393 in a time of one hour, 42 minutes and 18 seconds.

On the same day, Denbigh Harrier Iwan Evans ran closer to home in Outfit’s Sea to Summit Marathon.

Iwan’s winning form continued with another podium finish.

He took first place overall on this tough route, following the Offa’s Dyke Path from Prestatyn to Moel Gyw with over 6,500 feet of elevation gain!

Iwan’s finishing time was a brilliant 4-56.49.

Two Denbigh Harrier teams ran in ‘The Horse’ evening race on Tuesday, January 15.

This seven-mile circular Clwydian Hills route from Cilcain was made all the more interesting by the snow, but there were still fantastic performances from both teams. Finishing eighth overall was the mixed team of Rachael Evans, Dafydd Evans and Huw Williams in a great time of 1-22.30.

Meanwhile, the duo of Peter Lester-Owen and Gareth Jones were not far behind in 15th in a time of 1-32.45.

A couple of parkruns also saw Denbigh Harriers vests.

In the Crane parkrun, Sian Pritchard clocked 27.04 for 65th spot overall.

Harrier John Llewelyn Thomas took to the start line at the Pont y Bala event and he finished 53rd in 49.50.
