DENBIGHSHIRE athletes have been hot footing it at a popular event!

There was a great turnout of Denbigh Harriers at the Hot Foot up Famau race on Wednesday evening.

It's not a straight-forward race, which is a 3.5-mile route with 1,200 feet of ascent, which includes the notorious gulley up to Moel Famau.

This is a certainly little toughie, but there were great results.

Amongst the Harriers, Tony Wood finished second overall in a fantastic time of 39 minutes and 21 seconds.

Clubmate Emily Wood took the third overall lady spot in 51.06, followed within seconds by Emma Collins, who clocked 51.14.

Duncan Jones was the next Harrier to finish with his effort of 53.43, followed by Rachel Jones (55.30) and Peter Lester-Owen (57.12).

Menai Baugh was the only Denbigh Harrier racing the last race in the Tuesday evening fell race series.

She ran two miles up a little hill in Llanberis, with a 500-foot of climb in sweltering heat.

Menai finished in 22 minutes and 10 seconds to finish as the third F60 in the race.

She also took the third F60 accolade in the series, which is a brilliant result!

Meanwhile, Tony Wood continued with his brilliant form at the Ras Mynydd Twr, at Holyhead, on Saturday.

This 6.5-mile race, with 1,500 feet of ascent, took runners up and around Mynydd Twr, with Tony finishing fourth overall amongst tough competition in 53.40.
