MARK Webster enjoyed a decent run at the site of his PDC debut.
Twelve months ago Webster made his first PDC appearance at Gladbeck and over the weekend he returned to the German city for a darting double-header.
In Sunday’s German Darts Classic Players Championship, Webster battled his way through to the quarter-finals.
The 31st seed gained comprehensive early-round wins over Steve Grubb (6-1) and Sergio Pettarini (6-2), before holding his nerve twice to prevail in two tight tussles.
Webster’s third round margin of victory versus Colin Osborne was 6-5, the identical result to the one he claimed against Alan Tabern in the next round.
However, Mark’s run ended with the 6-3 last-eight loss to Brendan Dolan.
In the final, Premier League star Adrian Lewis wrapped up his first PDC ProTour win of 2010 with a 6-4 win over Mark Walsh.
Saturday’s German Darts Classic Players Championship saw Mark breeze past Tony Ayres and Michael Rosenauer 6-1 in the early rounds, but he was pipped 6-4 in the third round by former world number one Colin Lloyd.
Vincent van der Voort won his first PDC title with a 6-2 defeat of Wayne Jones in the final.
