SHOTTON STEEL 1
ST ASAPH 4

ARE the super Saints on the prowl for more silverware?

Two successive promotions now see St Asaph in the Premier Division of the Clwyd League and they began life at the higher level with a fine win on their travels at Shotton Steel.

An early goal from Steve Williams set the Denbighshire side on their way, but they had to wait until three minutes into the second half with Williams again on target.

The same player struck to complete his hat-trick midway through the second period.

Jay Davies pulled one back for Shotton a quarter-of-an-hour from time, however St Asaph had the final word courtesy of Sam Benbow’s 86th minute effort.
