AFTER dropping two points at lowly Acrefair, Corwen's outside hopes of pipping Brymbo to the league title had all but ended.

So, beginning with the visit of high-flying Mold, Corwen could now concentrate on the more realistic target of finishing second - and possibly gaining promotion to the Cymru Alliance.

James Davies opened the scoring early on with his second goal of the season.
