SOARING Llangollen rose to fourth in the North Wales League Division One standings after gaining local bragging rights against Chirk.

Chirk lost both openers within the first two overs, with Craig Boyle and Richard Vaughan Jones inducing poor shots from the batsmen.

Gareth Rigden proved crucial as he tore through the visitors' scorecard claiming 6-15 in his eight overs.

Rigden varied his pace cleverly.
