BALA 21-0
LLANRWST 2NDS 20
(Bala won 10-0)

HUGHES was in the news as Bala strengthened their outside Division Three promotion hopes with their annihilation of Llanrwst.

Brothers Dafydd and Sion Hughes were the deadly destroyers as the visitors were sent crashing to a paltry 20 all out and patient Bala openers Rhodri Edwards and Gwyndaf Hughes saw their side through to a maximum points triumph.

The bowling brothers needed little help as they went to work on the Llanrwst line-up.

Seven of their wickets were clean bowled, while one came via a leg before decision and the only Bala fielders that chipped in were Iolo Jones, who ran out Alex Evans, and Rhodri Edwards, who caught Gaz Jones off the bowling of Sion Hughes.

Captain fantastic Sion took 3-10 from his stint, while Dafydd shone brightly with a stunning 6-7.

Bala batted for 12.1 overs in scoring their 21 runs, but it was all worthwhile as Gwyndaf Hughes and Rhodri Edwards saw the hosts safely through to a 10-0 points win.
