Lower-order batsmen fail on drying wicket
CORWEN 102-9D
LLAY 103-2
(Llay won 25-2)
FOLLOWING on from the previous week then this was also going to be a tough fixture with Llay, recognised as one of the strongest teams in Division One.
Kevin Sharp and Matthew Duckworth started well, batting Nathan Humphries out of the attack. But it was not to last with Duckworth flashing at a ball outside off stump that was superbly caught by Dave Phennah at second slip.
He was followed some three overs later by Josh Maynard, while Will Roberts, promoted to number four, helped stabilise the innings as he and Sharp kept the scoreboard ticking over for the next 13 overs.
