RESIDENTS are being encouraged to help Trafford become a greener borough by recycling their Christmas trees.
Last year, more than 1,000 Christmas trees were taken to Trafford's parks for recycling following the festive period.
Executive Councillor Jonathan Coupe said: "This is another great way of helping Trafford become a greener borough. Once the festive period is over, your Christmas tree is shredded and the chippings used again. Last year, the chippings were put into flower beds and used for compost and for woodland paths in parks. I'd encourage everyone to consider recycling their Christmas tree."
once again, Trafford has four Christmas tree recycling points in parks throughout the borough. Trees can be taken to these parks for recycling up to January 24.
The Christmas Tree Recycling Points are: Stretford: Hullard Park Altrincham: Stamford Park Urmston: Flixton House Sale: Walkden Gardens (park closes at 3.30pm).
