DENBIGH 170-2, CONNAH'S QUAY 168
THE early bird catches the worm they say.
Well, an 11am start didn’t seem to affect Denbigh in the slightest as they maintained their excellent run of form in the Premier Division of the North Wales Cricket League.
It’s now three wins on the bounce for the Ystrad Road side, who climb up to fifth in the standings on the back of their fifth victory of the summer.
A trio of bowlers secured a trio of victims apiece as Connah's Quay were bowled out for 168.
Joe Lewis secured the highlight figures of 3-13 from his nine overs, while all-rounder Sam Lewis maintained his brilliant run of form to snap up 3-30. Jack Griffiths bagged 3-45 and the remaining wicket went to Alec Lewis (1-38).
There were no alarms and no surprises when it came to Denbigh’s turn to bat.
Opener Sean Danaher and number three batsman Sam Lewis shared a three-figure partnership to guide the home side to success, with Aussie Danaher striking a superb 86.
Lewis finished up undefeated on 36 and Denbigh comfortably reached a winning 170-2 in 44.2 overs.
