A MAGNIFICENT seven will be helping the next generation of footballers to hone their talents.

As part of the brand new CICS Cymru project, Bala Town are delighted that seven new young leaders successfully completed their FAW Leaders Award in February and they have now started their coaching journey.

Five of the seven were at Maes Tegid last Thursday to volunteer with Bala Juniors.

All seven of our new leaders are aged between 16 and 19 years and they are fluent Welsh speakers, with four coming from the Bala area and three from the club's scholarship programme with Coleg Meirion Dwyfor.

Those who have achieved their FAW Leaders Award are Leon Owen, Josh Edwards, Callum Gregory, Dion Owen, Cullen Rodgers, Ethan Rodgers and Cai Johnson.

All seven are now part of Bala Town in the Community and they will assist with coaches sessions at the 3G and in schools.

An extra incentive for the boys is the progression into the Bala Town Academy once they gain experience and mentoring from the junior and community clubs.

Bala Town FC community officer Andy Kelly said: "We have invested in our next line of coaches and we are delighted we had local people interested in coaching.

"The lads will now gain valuable experience in our junior clubs, learn and grow as coaches.

"All this has been possible thanks to the CICS Cymru project and we hope more young people come forward wanting to coach the younger generation.

"As Bala Town in the Community continues to grow, we need as many coaches to provide more football on our fantastic 3G facility and in the local school, so this will only benefit the local football community."
