LLANGEFNI TOWN 2

LLANDYRNOG UNITED 1

THERE was a cruel late blow for Llandyrnog United to contend with over the weekend.

For the second time in the space of five days, Ryan Harden's charges took on Lock Stock Welsh Alliance League Division One title challengers Llangefni Town.

After beating the high-flyers the previous Monday, Llandyrnog looked set to claim something from the reverse fixture when the scoreline was 1-1 with time almost up.

However, Llangefni then grabbed a 92nd minute goal to seal a 2-1 triumph.

Llandyrnog boss Harden said: "It's always a bitter pill to swallow losing a game with almost the last kick, but this one hurt more than most after the incredible effort the lads put into the game and some shocking decisions that went against us."

In an ideal start, United went in front after just 10 minutes courtesy of a terrific effort from Mark Roberts.

After a fine solo run, Roberts' strike found the top corner of the net.

Llandyrnog maintained their lead until a minute before the break.

The home side were awarded a penalty and Craig Roberts netted from the spot.

It looked like finishing one-apiece, but in a final attack Harry Galeotti set up Mathew Jones to tap in a dramatic winner in the 92nd minute.

"We deserved something from the game, but were let down badly by the officials on the day," said Harden.

"We have a big quarter-final next weekend, so we will need to pick ourselves up quickly."
