NANTGLYN 1

CEFN 4

IT'S becoming a pleasing pattern for Cefn.

Alun "Junior" Owen's unbeaten title chasers have only played two games away from home... and both of them have ended in 4-1 triumphs.

After claiming this scoreline during their key trip to league leaders Henllan, Cefn were at it again in Thursday evening's match at Nantglyn.

Two goals in each half did the trick for Cefn, who trail Henllan by six points, but they have two games in hand over their high-flying rivals.

Midfielder Gwion Owen broke the deadlock for Cefn in the 22nd minute and just 60 seconds later, top scorer Jake Walker found the target once more.

The visitors didn't have things all their own way, though, and Nantglyn's hopes were revamped in the 32nd minute.

Lewys Jones found the target to halve the deficit, grabbing only the fifth goal that Cefn have conceded this season.

That was as good as it got for Rhodri Evans' hosts, though, and Rhys Johnson's fifth goal of the season restored Cefn's two-goal cushion in the 58th minute.

The points were in the bag when a penalty saw Walker slot in his second goal of the evening - and his 24th goal of a profitable season.
