TENSE and low scoring?

There was no chance this would be the description associated with the final of this summer's Bragdy Cup!

Bala Town's Maes Tegid ground was the setting last Friday night for the showpiece final between Llanuwchllyn and Maesywaen.

Finals tend to be tense and edgy affairs, but not this one!

There were a bumper 11 goals on the night, with Llanuwchllyn claiming the prestigious silverware on the back of a 7-4 success.

Llanuwchllyn were the goal-den guys over the course of the event, scoring 20 goals in their four ties.

They started their run with a 4-2 extra time win over Cerrig in the preliminary round, followed by a narrow 2-1 success versus Beuno Sant.

In the semi-finals, Llan saw off the challenge of the Ship 7-1.

It was a fine tournament for Maesywaen, who defeated 2017 cup winners Cynwyd 2-1 in the first round.

They then defeated Llangwm 4-2 in the last-four.
