LLANDYRNOG 1

NINE more points.

That is Cefn's target to spark a Summer League title party.

Two goals in each half saw the league leaders claim a 15th win in 16 matches this season during their visit to fourth-placed Llandyrnog.

With a goalless first half looking likely, two goals in the space of two minutes put the visitors in control.

There are no prizes available for guessing who broke the deadlock.

A 31st goal of the season from striker Jake Walker made it one-nil to Cefn in the 36th minute, with him heading in from a free kick.

Llandyrnog hadn't recovered from this by the time Alun "Junior" Owen's team struck again.

It was midfielder Gwion Owen who struck in the 38th minute to put the visitors in the box seat.

Llandyrnog needed a strong start to the second half if they were to stand a chance of claiming something from the contest.

Just five minutes after the restart, Luke Humphreys found the target with a brilliant effort from distance.

That was to be the home side's only bright spot, though, and Cefn reclaimed their two-goal cushion on the hour when Jake Walker grabbed his second goal of the evening.

One further goal would arrive prior to the final whistle and it was netted by Rhys Johnson in the 86th minute.
