THE Denbigh and District Winter Darts League season came to a close at the Plas Pigot last weekend with a well attended finals evening.
The night saw Masons A claim a unique Denbigh darting treble, but the Tinman stole the show at the end of the evening.
Masons A added the nine-a-side crown to their A-League title and the memorial four-a-side trophy wins.
They scooped the latter courtesy of a 4-0 victory over the Hope & Anchor days before the finals night.
In the nine-a-side final, it was John Jones who hit the winning double to give them a handsome 5-2 victory over Railway A, while captain Mark Webster hit a fantastic 95 average in his match, which enjoyed a one-leg double start 701 format.
Earlier in the evening, Golden Lion B toppled the Hand Inn 5-2, with Kristian Daffern hitting the winning double.
The experienced Ray Wills, alongside daughter Leesa, took the mixed Doubles accolade with a 2-0 victory over Dave Cooke and Rachel Kingdon, thanks to a respectable 20.62 one-dart team average.
Claire Davies and Karen Coates were crowned the ladies' doubles champions with a hard fought 2-1 win over Hand Inn duo Shirley Williams and Beth Jones.
Masons A pairing Steve Gierke and Adie Thomas took the men's doubles honours in another tight three-leg affair, as they defeated Dilwyn and Rich Martin.
Jill Williams helped herself to a ninth ladies' Singles success across winter and summer seasons, with her first coming more than 20 years ago.
Jill defeated Claire Davies 2-0 to become queen of the oche.
Dyfrig Davies grabbed the men's B singles trophy with a hard fought 3-2 over the White Lion's Stuart Barry.
That left Hope and Anchor team-mates Nick Hailes and Danny Tinney to face off in the men's A-League singles final.
In a excellent final, it was fitting it went to a fifth leg decider, with Danny Tinney - affectionately known as The Tinman - taking the decider with a 96 outshot.
Both players ended with very respectable averages, Hailes with a 69 overall and Tinney with a 73.50 three-dart average.
