AS expected, the Borders Road-Running League season ended on a high note for Prestatyn Running Club with an unprecedented haul of awards.

Both the men and women gained promotion to Division One and eight individual awards were collected.

The outstanding performance came from Amie Bagnall, who was not only the first senior lady on aggregate over the six races, but also the first lady overall.

Steve Skates, who finished no lower than fourth in any of the races, was placed third overall and other age-group prizes went to Joy Hickman (2nd L50), Vic Belshaw (2nd M55), George Nixon (1st M65), Gareth Hughes (1st M70) and Mike Davis (2nd M70).

In the keenly contested final race, a 4.6-mile event at Deeside, the club again had three men among the first 14 home, with Steve Forsyth and Andy Bromley once again having their own tussle.

Amie had her third consecutive victory and it was good to welcome back George Nicholls after a lengthy spell away from competition.
