FELLOW world champions turned out to be bogey men for Mark Webster over the weekend.

Defeats at the hands of Gary Anderson and Adrian Lewis halted his run during a couple of PDC events in Milton Keynes.

Friday witnessed a pair of UK qualifiers for forthcoming European Tour events.

Players turned out in their efforts to qualify for the Gibraltar Darts Trophy and Danish Darts Open, which will both take place in June.

Mark received a bye in the first round of the Gibraltar Darts Trophy qualifier, before he was defeated 6-0 by fellow Welshman Jamie Lewis in the next round of the tournament.

Webster began his tilt during the Danish Darts Open in the first round, where he saw off Terry Temple 6-2.

This was followed by a 6-0 whitewash of Andy Jenkins during the last-72 stage, however with qualification within his grasp, Mark was edged out 6-4 by two-time world champion Adrian Lewis.

A total of seven players, headlined by Lewis, Robert Thornton and Paul Nicholson, secured places in both of the European Tour events.

Saturday and Sunday witnessed a couple of PDC Players' Championship events taking place at Arena MK, Milton Keynes.

There was a first round defeat for Webster to contend with on the opening day, with opponent Ritchie Edhouse running out a 6-1 winner.

Gary Anderson claimed his fifth PDC title of 2018 with a 6-5 win over Gabriel Clemens in the final.

Fast forward to Sunday and Mark began his run with a comfortable 6-3 success over Diogo Portela.

A tough draw paired Webster with Gary Anderson in the next round and it was the Scotsman who prevailed 6-3.

Josh Payne won his second PDC title with a 6-5 victory over Peter Wright in the final.
