A LAST day defeat saw Ruthin suffer relegation in the North Wales Cricket League.
Needing victory to maintain their Division Two status, Ruthin instead lost out by 66 runs at Hawarden Park 2nds.
Making sure Ruthin dropped into Division Three, Mold 2nds preserved their safety with a tense three-wicket success at Mochdre.
Hawarden Park made first use of the batting track and their 40 overs yielded 215 for five.
Jamie Brailsford led the way with his knock of 82, while the wickets were shared by Josh Duckworth (2-29), Matthew Duckworth (2-45) and Oliver Jones (1-12).
Despite the efforts of skipper Jamie Hughes (46), Jac Evans (29) and Matthew Duckworth (26), Ruthin's reply ended on 149.
