CHARLES MICHAEL de BOHUN LIPSCOMB Son of the late Lieutenant Commander Hugh Michael de Bohun Lipscomb and Agnus Cowan Sloan, brother of Jane Dick. Charles Michael de Bohun Lipscomb born in Dublin on 17th November 1948. Michael was educated at St Columbus College in Ireland. Upon leaving school he joined the family retail business, rising quickly to a prominent position as managing director. Michael managed O'Brien's Furniture store in Wexford between 1976 and 1984. His further business ventures took him to the Isle of Man and Staffordshire, England. These businesses specialised in mirrors and pictures, distributing to some of the leading UK catalogue companies. Michael was a keen sportsman and played a range of sports; including golf, tennis and cricket. He was also a horse racing enthusiast and owned a number of winning horses from both the jumps and the flat. Michael was married in Dublin in 1976 and was the loving father of three children and six grandchildren. Renowned for his generosity everywhere he lived, Michael was a fantastic host to family and friends - always the life and soul of the party, dancing the night away! He passed away in his home surrounded by his three children in the northern Welsh town of Ruthin on 21st September 2020 and will be deeply missed.
