LOVE will conquer all in one of the most celebrated classical ballets next week.

Returning to Llandudno with it's trademark passion and peerless quality, The Russian State Ballet and Opera House will present the triumphant tour de force Giselle at Venue Cymru on Wednesday, November 7.

A story where love triumphs over betrayal, this poignant performance follows the gravely ill peasant girl Giselle as she falls in love with the handsome Prince Albrecht, who has been unfaithful to her.

When jealous rivals claim her fiancé, the heartbreak is too much for her to bear. Weakened by her ill health and driven mad by despair, Giselle takes her own life.

After her funeral Prince Albrecht visits her grave. The spirits of women betrayed before their wedding days return to take revenge on their philandering fiancés by dancing them to death. Only Giselle’s powerful love saves the remorseful Albrecht from this cruel fate, proving that love can conquer all – even death.

On their 22nd tour in 10 years, the production company will bring their impressive pedigree to a never before seen take on Giselle, celebrating this Russian classic with majestic grace.

Featuring an impressive cast and accompanied by a live orchestra with over 30 musicians bringing Adolphe Adam's score to life, this is an opportunity for ballet lovers to see Giselle as never before. Former award winning Bolshoi Ballet Soloist Konstantin Uralsky has created an original production with a new twist to this classical ballet, with new set and superb, handmade costumes.

For enthusiasts of this timeless art form and anyone seeking an evening of unbelievable elegance, head to Venue Cymru tonight on Wednesday, November 7 at 7.30pm.
