HUGELY popular Dartmoor duo Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman are back in Bangor for another gig.

It was a sell-out show the last time the critically acclaimed couple played at the Blue Sky Cafe, based at the rear of 236 High Street, and organisers are hoping for a repeat performance.

The couple, described by Acoustic Magazine as ‘something very special’ will be at the Blue Sky Cafe, on Saturday, March 23.

The husband and wife team are known for their imaginative songwriting and musicianship.

They are well-known on the British folk circuit, and have twice won the coveted 'Best Duo' title at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards (2016 and 2013).

With two decades of performance behind them, their style is described on the Blue Sky website as "bold and innovative."

The couple mix traditional song arrangements with (increasingly) their own self-penned material which "reels from the bitter to the sweet, the wry to the sad, the political to the passive across folk, rock, country and blues genres."

Evening manager Ian Wharton said: "Kathryn and Sean are absolutely amazing musicians.

"They sold out the Blue Sky Cafe the last time they came here and it was a fantastic gig.

"They are very popular in Bangor and for good reason.

"We are definitely expecting another sell out performance."

Kathryn and Sean's will be p laying music from their wide repertoire, including their landmark fifth studio album ‘Personae.’

The album is described as an "eclectic emotional see-saw of a journey," melding ten tracks of traditional ballads and their own self-penned material. Tickets are £15 available directly from the Cafe online at http://www.wegottickets.com/event/454471 (10% admin fee applies) or on the door on the night.

Doors open at 7pm. The gig starts at 8pm. There is a bar only, no food served.
