THOUSANDS of people made the most of the "sweltering" weather over the weekend to have a cracking time at the Prestatyn Easter Eggstravaganza.

A whole host of activities dotted the High Street and Pendre Gardens for the event, which saw crowds of people flock to the town on Saturday, April 20.

Judging the competitions for the event, which celebrates the Easter weekend most years in the town and was the biggest to date, was Prestatyn and Meliden mayor cllr Anton Sampson.

Cllr Sampson said: "It was sweltering wearing a suit, tie and chains for five hours - luckily I didn't get heat stroke but I did burn my nose.

"I had the stressful job of judging the Easter bonnet competition and also gave medals out to all of the egg hunt entries. The whole town got into the spirit of it and it was an honour to be part of it all.

"Rachael Astle from Prestatyn Town Council did an amazing job organising lots of events all along the High Street and Pendre gardens.
