WALES Comic Con has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The convention, which attracts thousands of visitors throughout the UK and Europe, was due to be held on April 25 and 26.

But it will now be held in August.

The event had been held in Wrexham for ten years but last year relocated to Telford and was rebranded Wales Comic Con: Telford Takeover. Lots of Wrexham comic and film fans attended the relocated event in December.

A statement from organisers said: "After much consideration and deliberation, we have made the decision to postpone Wales Comic Con: Telford Takeover until August 22-23 2020.

"We are devastated that it has come to this, but in light of the current situation, we fell we have no other choice.

"As all of you are no doubt aware, there are growing concerns about the spread of COVID-19 across the globe. This is something that we simply cannot ignore.

"While postponing the event has been a difficult decision for us to make, the safety and wellbeing of our attendees, guests, crew and the community as a whole must come first.

Tickets will be valid for the rescheduled event.

The postponement follows similar moves by the organisers of MCM Comic Con Birmingham, Edinburgh Comic Con and Leicester Horror Con.
