Legendary DJ Pete Tong will be performing at Eirias Park next year with a classic take on some dance floor favourites.

Before the coronavirus pandemic the dance guru had been touring the planet to critical acclaim, playing dance anthems backed by a full 65-piece orchestra.

Now he’s announced plans to visit Stadiwm Zipworld at Eirias Park on Saturday, August 14, 2021.

The Radio One DJ, whose name has passed into rhyming slang folklore to represent when things are going wrong, has been getting his classical fusion with dance anthems right according to sell-out crowds.

His show, backed by the Heritage Orchestra and conducted by Jules Buckley, played a ground-breaking sell-out Proms gig at the  Royal Albert Hall three years ago, which gave him the impetus to take the show on the road.

Now he’ll be belting out such classics as Insomnia by Faithless and Right Here Right Now by Fatboy Slim and Pjanoo by Eric Prydz, in Colwyn Bay.

Director Pablo Janczur said: “We ‘ve promoted this show in outdoor locations twice with great success and its always been the highlight of our summer so

we can wait to bring it to Colwyn Bay. Get ready to party North Wales.”

A tour was supposed to go ahead in November and December this year but had to be shelved due to coronavirus.

The production will also take in an open air gig at Northampton’s Franklins Gardens the night before appearing in Colwyn Bay.

Later in the year Tong will head gigs in Nottingham, Manchester, Brighton, Birmingham and London’s O2 Arena.

An album based on the back of the collaboration’s success, Classic House, has sold more than 200,000 copies and reached number one in the UK.

The follow-up, Pete Tong Ibiza Classics, has so far amassed more than 120,000 sales.

Ticket go on general sale from Friday November 20 at 9am.
