RESIDENTS are up in arms after ravers continued to play loud music for a five days.

Homeowners have complained of sleepless nights after they say “thumping” dance music was being played 24-hours-a-day at the event on private land at Llandegla Forest over last weekend.

A couple have spoken of their relief after the five day long rave came to an end on Tuesday.

A man living near the site of the unannounced party, which rocked land opposite One Planet Adventure mountain biking centre, said music shook his house as it was played 24 hours a day from last Friday.

The rave was organised via Facebook and was due to finish on Monday, but continued until Tuesday afternoon.

The resident, who did not wish to be named, said he and his wife are now living in fear that ravers will return to the area in the future.

On Wednesday he said: “They stopped late on yesterday afternoon, whether they did it of their own accord I don’t know.

“You can’t believe what a relief it is to us. We were able to get in our own bed last night as we’ve been sleeping in the spare bedroom because of the noise.

“I don’t know if anything can be done to stop it happening again, but it something should be done.

“It’s a disgrace that nothing was done to stop it earlier.”

He said he and his wife had only slept for about five hours over the weekend.

He said during the weekend his “nerves were shot”, his wife was “crying all the time” and they only got five hours sleep.

Llandegla councillor Martyn Holland said he received a raft of complaints from upset neighbours.

People attending the event are also alleged to have set up several campsites on private land and caused problems by parking on the A525.

On Monday Cllr Holland said: “No one wants to stop enjoyment but there is a limit.

“Police have been down to tell them to turn it down but when they disappear it’s turned up again.

“In reality it should have been stopped by now and powers should have been enforced to stop it.”

A police spokesman said they had monitored the situation.

A Denbighshire Council spokesman said the council did not have to take any action and that the event had run its course.
