A MODEL spoke of her disbelief after a photo shoot in a long-abandoned house near Bala.

Donna Lloyd, a model and actress, said it was like she had “stepped back in time” as the house, situated within a few miles of Bala Lake, looked to have been left completely alone for about 15 years with food in the cupboards, pictures on the walls and possessions untouched in the ground floor rooms.

She had been invited along with 27-year-old fellow model Hayley Roberts by their friend and photographer Pete Roberts, who saw artistic potential in the dilapidated cottage.

Donna, aged 33, posted images of what the party found on social media.

She said: “We couldn’t believe what we saw. All the possessions are still there, the furniture, boxes of letters and cards, photos, paintings – it just blew us away.

“The letters were to a lady who lived in the house.

“All the memories of this lady are just fading away but the cupboards were still stocked with food.

“There’s even Jacob’s cream crackers there dated 2001.

“It was surreal, like we had stepped back in time.

“It didn’t feel eerie, just confusing because it’s just all been left. I think either she was taken to hospital or put into care and it looks like the family just haven’t been to clear it.

“There’s a staircase and part of the wall along that side has collapsed into the cowshed and the roof is starting to collapse. If you look up the staircase you can see there’s still furniture up there as well, so that must be the bedroom.”

Pete Roberts said: “I’m quite interested in derelict buildings, they have a charm of their own.

“I stumbled across this place, and I just couldn’t believe how it had been left.”
