Residents in the Ruthin area have taken to Facebook reporting a mysterious "explosion" in the early hours of this morning.
Members from the Fans of the Old Ruthin Blog page said they had heard an explosion at around 12.55am, some reporting it may have come from the former Rhos Street School site.
People said they "jumped out of their skin" the noise was so loud.
Anita Richmond, on the Fans of Old Ruthin Blog Facebook page, said: "I was just dosing off i literally jumped out of my skin."
Vicky Robson, on the same page, said: "I heard it from Rhewl so it must have been loud in Ruthin! There’s been a helicopter circling for a while too."
North Wales Police told the Denbighshire Free Press today nothing had been reported and there were no ongoing investigations into any "explosion" in Ruthin.
