LEGENDS from the footballing world will be heading to the Vale of Clwyd for a special event this weekend.

A Ruthin Town XI will take on a Manchester United side in a fundraising match to help improve the facilities at Ruthin Memorial Playing Fields.

The match will take place next Friday, June 8, kicking off at 7.30pm.

Manchester United legends Denis Irwin and Mickey Thomas will take to the pitch at Memorial Park Fields for the match, along with former player Russell Beardsmore, Manchester United match day announcer Alan Keegan and MUTV presenter Mark "Sully" Sullivan.

Admission to the game is priced at £10 for adults, with children admitted free of charge.

A further meet the stars question-and-answer event is scheduled for 9pm in the clubhouse, limited to 100 people.

Pre-booked tickets are £25, while they are £30 on the night if spaces are available, with prices including free drinks.
