A ROAD has been closed in Denbigh following a 'serious' crash near the Brookhouse Mill.

Ruthin Road, Denbigh has been closed following a road traffic collision earlier today.

Police have attended the scene.

Drivers have been asked to use an alternative route.

North Wales Police's Roads Policing Unit tweeted: "Please be advised that Ruthin Road, Denbigh by the Brookhouse Mill is currently closed following a serious collision.

"Please avoid the area and use an alternative route."

The road's closure can be expected to cause disruption to bus times, including school transport. A spokesperson for Denbighshire County Council said: "Due to the serious road traffic collision by Brookhouse Mill, Denbigh, this afternoon bus services 51, 51b and X51 have been disrupted.

"At St. Brigid's, affected school transport services will be delayed by 30 minutes to avoid disruption caused by the collision.

"At Ysgol Glan Clwyd the Llanrhaeadr bus will operate to Denbigh only and the council is making separate arrangements to get pupils home from Ysgol Glan Clwyd to Llanrhaeadr.

"For pupils at Ysgol Brynhyfryd the X51 bus will operate as normal as far as Llanrhaeadr only and will return to school for Denbigh passengers when safe to do so."
