AS the hot weather is set to continue police are advising people staying in caravans to ensure their windows and doors are kept secure.

During the summer months, thousands of people flock to the North Wales coastal area to holiday in caravans.

The advice from North Wales Police comes after three incidents last week where handbags and jewellery, including watches and rings, were stolen from three caravans along the coast area, when windows and doors were left open.

North Wales Police Constable Peter Colley said: “We want to remind caravan owners to take quick and easy steps to ensure their property is secure on these warm evenings.”

“Don’t become a victim of crime by giving opportunists the opportunity- leaving windows open and valuables on show.”

Anyone with information relating to the break-ins is asked to call PC Colley on 101 quoting reference 1830006876.
