PHOTOGRAPHS showcasing the region's coastline are on display in Llangollen.

The exhibition - called Routes to the Sea - at Llangollen Tourist Information Centre at Y Capel, celebrates Visit Wales' themed years, 2018 being Year of the Sea.

The exhibition was commissioned by Denbighshire County Council and funded by the North East Wales Partnership.

Images were taken over several weeks at the end of summer 2017 and beginning of autumn of that year.

Craig Colville, who has been a photographer for more than 10 years, has captured the area’s routes to the sea from a different perspective to create interesting and thought provoking images.

The former Denbighshire Free Press and Rhyl Journal photographer said: "This is my first exhibition. There is 18 photos on display.

"One of the photos features the Panorama in Llangollen. The photos all have links to the sea/involve water.

"I involved myself in as many activities as possible, rather than merely observing. I hope to give an in the moment view of the more well known and lesser known landmarks and activities available throughout."

Craig, a former Ysgol Glan Clwyd pupil, grew up in Flintshire and now lives in Wrexham.

He added: "My first job as a professional photographer was at the Denbighshire Free Press. I have been a full time photographer covering almost all aspects of photography for over a decade.

"There were many challenges in completing this projects but it was an absolute pleasure to be able to document and show off the area where I live and meet so many amazing people from all walks of life along the way."

The saleable exhibition will run until the end of September and Llangollen Tourist Information Centre is open every day from 9.30am to 4pm, expect Thursdays.
