A DENBIGH classical guitarist has released his debut album.

Rhisiart Arwel has entertained audiences around the world and his debut album is set to feature many of his popular pieces that he has enjoyed performing along the years.

The album will showcase his own arrangements of Welsh folk songs and hymns feature alongside music from various parts of the world with a strong emphasis on music from Spain and South America.

Arwel said: "There’s always a great response in concerts abroad to the Welsh folk-songs.

"The Welsh melodies are not so well-known, and people seem to love hearing them.

"I look forward to the response to the new arrangements on the album."

The Denbigh guitarist is releasing his first album through Sain.

The album was launched in a special performance at the Norwegian Church, Cardiff, on August 6 during the National Eisteddfod.
