THE A5 between Llangollen and Corwen has now reopened following a serious crash involving a motorcyclist.

The road was closed at midday on Saturday, September 29 that the road was closed, with diversions put in place.

It remained shut for about five hours, but police have now confirmed the road is open again and thanked everyone for their patience.

Police and ambulance services were at the scene for a significant amount of time.

One motorcyclist was airlifted to Stoke and a female patient was taken by road to Glan Clwyd Hospital.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said:  “We were called on Saturday, September 29 at approximately 12.15pm to a report of a road traffic collision involving a vehicle and a motorcyclist on the A5 at Llidiart-y-Parc, Corwen.

"We responded with one emergency ambulance and one air ambulance, where a male patient was taken by air ambulance to Stoke Hospital and a female patient was taken by road ambulance to Glan Clwyd Hospital, Rhyl.”

A spokesman for North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said they were not required to attend the scene.
