A PERSON has been airlifted to hospital following a serious crash near Bala.

Police, ambulance and air ambulance services attended to a one-vehicle crash on the A494 single carriageway between Bala and Llanuwchlyn at about 2.20pm.

One person has been airlifted to Stoke Hospital.

A spokesperson for the Welsh Ambulance Service said: “We were called today (October 10) at approximately 2.20pm to reports of a road traffic collision on the A494 between Bala and Llanuwchllyn.

"We responded with one emergency ambulance and an air ambulance, where one person was taken by air ambulance to Stoke Hospital.”

Motorists had been advised to use an alternative route whilst emergency services were in attendance but the road has since reopened.

A spokesperson for North Wales Police said: "The A494 between Bala and Llanuwchlyn reopened around 4.28pm."
