CHILDREN have been putting pen to paper in order to build links with a kindergarten in Thailand.
Pre-school children at Snuggles Day Nursery, Denbigh, were excited to receive a photo of their penfriends at Kids Avenue International proudly holding letters that had been posted out to them.
As part of the pairing up with the kindergarten children, little ones from Snuggles have been learning about cultures.
A spokesperson from the nursery said: "The opportunity came about when a member of our staff, Shannon [Hughes], left to travel the world.
"Shannon landed herself a job in a small primary school in Thailand. She kept in touch with Snuggles and started a pen pal between the children to learn about each others cultures.
"The children began writing to one another at the beginning of September and we communicated through a video where we introduced our classroom and ourselves. We then asked each other questions and drew pictures to each other."
About 30 preschool children have been involved in the link up.
The children plan to keep developing the friendship and will continue with their letter writing.
