A CHILDREN'S cafe in Denbigh was targeted by vandals who attempted a break-in last week.

On Wednesday, October 24, Daisy's Milk Parlour, which only re-opened in September, had the reinforced glass on its doors smashed by two men.

Manager Sam Davies said that the door to the ice cream shop had appeared to have been wedged by tools but the pair failed to get in to the shop.

"I don't know why anyone would want to break into a kids cafe unless they were after chocolates and fruit shoots," she said.

"No money is ever left on the premises so it really is sad that people would do something like this."

The incident was not the first time Daisy's has been targeted - the premises was burgled in March too. However, despite the break-in attempts, business has carried on as usual this week for staff.

They have been busy hosting various Halloween-themed events - including a petting and photography session with live creatures such as spiders and snakes on show.

"We have a busy half term and we will be open as usual," Sam added.

"These scum bags will not stop us. Children in this area need activities to keep them busy and we are determined to carry on."

The two men involved in the attempted break-in were caught on CCTV - with one wearing a distinctive Nike hoodie. Anyone with further information is urged to call 101.
