A NEW charity store is coming to Wrexham.

National healthcare charity Sue Ryder will open its first store in Wrexham on Wednesday, November 28.

The new store at Island Green Shopping Park promises high-quality second-hand furniture, white goods and clothing at bargain prices, and will be open seven days a week.

Councillor John Pritchard will officially open the store at 10am on Wednesday and Sue Ryder staff will be on hand to guide shoppers round the store and talk about volunteering opportunities.

The new superstore is one of a new phase of stores introduced by Sue Ryder and joins over 450 high street shops across the UK that support the charity’s palliative, neurological and bereavement care.

Karen Mogg, Sue Ryder Wrexham store manager said: “We’re delighted to open our first Sue Ryder shop in Wrexham – and one of our new line of ‘superstores’ too.

"Opening a new store in a retail park means we can sell larger items like furniture and white goods, as well as a wider choice of goods – and all at the low prices you would expect from a charity shop.

“Not only will you bag a bargain for your home or wardrobe at the new Wrexham store, you will also be helping Sue Ryder support people facing a terminal illness, a complex neurological condition or the loss of a loved one."

She added: “Anyone interested in volunteering is welcome to pop in for a cup of tea and chat with our friendly team. We would love some help on the sales desk and with sorting donations and testing portable appliances.

"No experience is necessary as training is provided, and volunteering is a great way to meet people and pick up new skills.

“Donations can be dropped off at the store and items of furniture can be picked up from your home for free when you fill out the form at www.sueryder.org/furniture.’’
