THERE may be a 28 year age gap but 20-year-old Beth Telford "adores" her husband who she described as her "teddy bear".

Beth was 16 when she got with Andy Telford, now 47. The couple have been together for three years and have two children, Timmy and Conway.

The couple told the story of their relationship and how they were "hounded" out of Llandudno on Channel 5 show Age Gap Love.

Beth and Andy left the town to start a new life in Lancashire, but in the programme are seen making a return to Conwy for a visit.

Talking in the show, Andy - who was previously married - said when Beth reached the age of 16, she wanted to take their relationship to the next level.

Beth said: "The age gap never really bothered me. I don't see him as an old man or Dad. He is a big teddy bear, sensitive."

Andy said: "I was concerned what people would think. It is a generation gap."

Beth and Andy decided to give their controversial relationship a go.

As Beth had always wanted a family, Timmy and Conway soon came along.

The couple admitted that the negative attention received turned their lives upside down.

"I'm very lucky to have a young and beautiful wife," Andy said.

"She is beautiful and vibrant, just everything about her."

Beth replied: "And you are gorgeous. I don't see us as beauty and the beast but beauty and the teddy bear."

When they got married, Beth was 18.

There was very few guests at the wedding; the couple had a small gathering in Llandudno.

Beth said: "I couldn't go out without people giving me looks or saying something."

"We left North Wales in search of peace," Andy added.

Beth and Andy hope people will accept their relationship over time.

"I see her as my best mate," Andy said.

Beth responded: "You are my best friend."
