A HOLYWELL man facing death by dangerous driving charges has appeared in court.
Daniel Michael Beck appeared in front of North East Wales Magistrates Court sitting in Wrexham via a video link from the town's HMP Berwyn.
Beck, 29, of Y Gerddi, Maes Pennant, is charged with causing the death of 18-year-old Liam Simpson from Holywell by driving a BMW car dangerously on Greenfield Road on September 30 last year.
He is also accused of causing the death of Liam Simpson by driving without an authorised licence as well as diving without insurance all on the same date.
Prosecutor Rhian Jackson told the magistrates that Beck was a serving prisoner who had been recalled on licence. Defence solicitor Gary Harvey said there would be no bail application and indicated it was likely that Beck would plead guilty to all charges.
Magistrates' chairman Justine Barrow remanded Beck in custody until December 13 for a plea and directions hearing at Mold Crown Court.
